This fall, SERVPRO of Cape Girardeau & Scott Counties will be celebrating 30 years in business in this community. Owner Richard and Sandy Hastings opened our doors in September of 1992. Nonetheless, this was not their first SERVPRO franchise. 

Richard first entered the SERVPRO world in 1980 as a technician for a franchise in Delaware. After a lot of hard work, he was later able to purchase that franchise. As new opportunities presented themselves across the country for SERVPRO franchises, Richard decided to sell that franchise and pursue the almost-untouched state of Missouri. 

He started the first SERVPRO franchise in St. Louis and began building a business from the ground up. In fact, when he moved, he didn't have much more than his SERVPRO van--not even a place to live! He figured it out along the way. It was there that he met his wife Sandy and later got married in 1987. A year later, she joined him in the business.  A year after their daughter Brittany was born, they decided to sell that franchise and open up SERVPRO of Cape Girardeau & Scott Counties.

Fast forward to 2016, their daughter and son-in-law Brittany and Mac Davenport joined the SERVPRO team. They held various roles for office administration, marketing, production technicians, managers, and eventually became part owners in the family business.

While Richard and Sandy are working towards retirement, they are leaving their trusted legacy with Mac and Brittany, helping and guiding them with their wisdom along the way.
