Restoring Your Wet Documents
Did you know that SERVPRO of Cape Girardeau & Scott Counties has the capabilities to restore your wet documents? We use a special combination of vacuums and pressure to achieve sublimation to dry wet papers in a special drying chamber. Sublimation is the direct conversion of a solid into a gas without passing through the liquid stage. This technique of Vacuum Freeze Drying is the only method that the NARA and GSA approve. That’s why the most important detail in document restoration is immediately freezing all wet papers to stop any more damage from occurring.
The following is a non-exclusive list of items we can dry in our chamber:
- Medical Records / Patient Records
- Sheet Music
- Blueprints
- Company Records
- Customer Records
- Archived Records
- Government Documents
- Historical Documents
- Magazines
- Maps
- Photos
- Pressed Plants
- Drawings
- VHS Tapes
- Log Books
